Apple Speech is completely free and works offline with no API key needed. OpenAI Whisper is a solid all-around choice. You can switch providers anytime in settings.
Yes, with limitations. Voice recognition works fully offline when using Apple Speech as your provider. If you set up a local Whisper model, that also works offline. However, Claude Code itself requires an internet connection to function, so the Claude integration is online-only.

VibeTo AI requires macOS 13 Ventura or later running on Apple Silicon M2 or newer (M2, M3, M4 chips). The Neural Engine on these chips is required for on-device AI inference.
Yes. VibeTo AI integrates with the Claude Code CLI, which requires an Anthropic account. Claude Code is free to install. VibeTo handles the voice layer, while Claude handles the AI coding.
Apple Speech is completely free. Cloud providers like OpenAI Whisper, Groq, and Deepgram cost fractions of a cent per minute of audio. You pay those providers directly with your own API key — VibeTo never touches your billing.
